Workshop - Learn To Cut Your Own Rocks!
Take the ORDINARY and make it EXTRAORDINARY!
Mother Nature is remarkable in her creations and we can work with that. Taking a nature crystal to new heights with your two hands is enjoyable and satisfying.
Don't think you can do it. Let us prove you wrong. In this beginner 3 hour class you will learn to cut a round and oval shape stone. You will leave feeling accomplished with two finished pieces.
A finished stone is referred to as a Cabochon. A cabochon is a stone that is a highly polished stone. They can take on various shapes, but are finished with a dome. The word Cabochon comes from the French word 'caboche' meaning knob or small dome.
The Art of Lapidary is one of mankind's earliest forms of technology, and can be dated as far back as 1 000 000 million years ago. Advancements really started to take shape in the 1400s. Over the course of hundreds of years refinements have aided in improving the shaping and polishing of stones.
